About Us

Pearls of Wisdom strives to enrich and enhance the lives of Vulnerable and Orphaned Children in central rural Uganda and critically provides somewhere for our children to call home.  Through the gift of education - which many of us take for granted - we aim to provide our little Pearls with the opportunity of a much brighter future.
Founded on the 9th October 2011, 3.25 acres of land was purchased in the rural village of Nakiwaate in the district of Mukono and the construction of a new residential children's home began.  On the 15th July 2012 the "Seed Pearl Centre" officially opened and the first of our residential children took up residence in their new home

With a 1 acre building envelope set aside to enable future expansion, the remaining acreage has been developed and is now farmed to produce edible crops and sustain the project.  Our new bee keeping and goat breeding projects represent additional income generating ventures, taking us ever closer to our ultimate goal of self-sustainability.

Community projects to date include - The Nakiwaate Borehole & The Nakiwaate Community Joy Luck Library.  In order for us to run more programs and bring further opportunity to the whole community in the future, a fully equipped community centre has also been planned.

If you are interested in finding out more about our work, becoming a sponsor or volunteering opportunities, please feel free to contact us at pearlsofwisdomaus@gmail.com.  We would love to hear from you.
